Description
Blue-purple trumpets in loose umbels; May, June, early July. Bridge bloomer between spring and summer. Sturdy stems; ideal cut flower. This is the aristocrat of late-flowering bulbs.
Not fully hardy. Plant in May after frost has passed; dig up in October before frost. Full sun to half shade; well-draining; low maintenance. Half-hardy: protection helps. Unscented; not toxic; bees and butterflies love it. Blooms first year. Can naturalize in warm dry spots. Cut flower; also suitable for pot. Named after Queen Fabiola of Belgium. Carries her name with verve.
