The Martagon lily brings a different quality to the garden than its more familiar cousins — nodding sunny yellow and rich orange Turk's cap blooms on tall stems that move in the slightest breeze, suited to partial shade where few other summer bulbs will grow. As a cut flower it is extraordinary — long stems, large blooms and, in Oriental varieties, a fragrance that fills a room completely. A few stems in a tall vase is all the decoration any room needs.
