Description
Red Lion is the bright red that everyone knows from Christmas: deep crimson, velvety. The oldest and most famous amaryllis of the range, and that is for a reason. This is the Christmas amaryllis.
Fifty years in cultivation and still the favorite. Single flower, no excess, pure power. Six to eight weeks after potting it blooms open. You place the bulb half above the soil in a warm, light spot. Keep it lightly moist. Red Lion can also bloom without soil, on water in a vase. Strong stems, large flowers, classic effect. Sometimes a second stem follows.
