Description
Pure white flowers as early as March, sometimes right through the last snow. Small star-blooms on short stems, 10 to 15 centimeters, multiplying through the years into white carpets. The white form of glory-of-the-snow.
This alba form naturalizes just as well as its blue sister. It sows itself, and ants help. The seeds carry a small appendage that ants carry off. Within a few years you have whole white fields. It loves good drainage and tolerates sun through full shade. Plant generously, at least 20 together, for real impact. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Beautiful as a continuous white line after snowdrops. A perfect herald of the blue squills to come.
